Dorsal Root Ganglion (DRG) Stimulation

DRG stimulation is a minimally invasive treatment for patients with chronic, localized pain. DRG stimulation utilizes a small device implanted directly outside the spinal canal to target the specific nerves causing pain. The device sends electrical pulses into the nerve as it enters the spinal canal to scramble the signals of pain. This therapy is typically used for patients with chronic pain following a hernia, hip, knee, or foot surgery. A temporary trial (or test) of a DRG stimulator is performed to see if patients respond well to the treatment before permanently implanting the system. The pain medicine physicians at Innovative Pain and Spine Specialists in Omaha and Lincoln will help determine if DRG stimulation is right for you.
