Facet Joint Injection

Facet joint injection is a minimally-invasive, nonsurgical treatment used to treat arthritis of the spine. The facet joint of the spine is a moveable connection that connects one vertebra (bone of the spine) to another. Injections work by reducing the inflammation and irritation in the joint and can provide relief for weeks to months.

The pain medicine physicians at Innovative Pain & Spine Specialists perform the procedure using x-ray guidance. A combination of an anesthetic and a steroid is injected into the joint. The procedure takes 10-15 minutes and can be done for neck and back pain.
